  • The Dolomites mountain range in Northern Italy is not only a great place to climb - it is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you can combine the natural beauty of this area with your love for climbing. This mountain range offers stunning high cliffs that reach up to 3000 meters and deep lush valleys. One of these great climbs is Punta Anna, which is the large outcrop overlooking the breathtaking views of Tofana di Mezzo. There are climbing options for all levels, and in the winter, skiing is also available in this area. Nearby towns and villages include Selva Val Gardena and Cortina d’Ampezzo.

  • The Aosta Valley is close to the borders of Switzerland and France and is nestled in the Italian Alps and sits sixty-eight miles north, northwest of Turin. This area is known for its famous ski resorts, but there are also great climbing opportunities. If you are experienced, you can tackle some of the biggest peaks such as Mont Blanc. But there are also lots of smaller crags, so there is something for everyone in this picturesque setting.

  • If your travels take you to Tuscany, you can combine the historical sites of cities such as Florence with a climbing holiday. Tuscany has over thousands of climbing routes. The stunning countryside is a breathtaking backdrop as you try easy climbs or more advanced climbs that reach up to five hundred and fifty meters high. 

  • Southern Italy has some pretty amazing climbing holidays too. The Island of Sardinia has coastal as well as interior cliffs that will delight and amaze you. And if you want to combine your rock climbing holiday with other activities such as kiteboarding, windsurfing or diving, this location is ideal. Also, the Island of Sicily has a warm winter climate and climbing here can be done year round. On the north end of the island, you can climb in the area of Trapani for great limestone cliffs. Closer to the capital also has some limestone walls and lots of routes to choose from.
