Cortina d’Ampezzo or Cortina as it is affectionately known is a town in the center of the Southern Dolomites-Alps in Italy. It is part of the Veneto region of Northern Italy. Located on the Boite River, it is known for its winter sports resorts which feature skiing, trails, shops, and restaurants. The Dolomites in Cortina are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and this was also the location of the 1965 Winter Olympics.

The Regole of Ampezzo Ethnographic Museum. This museum contains things like agricultural tools, clothing types and all kinds of other things related to customs and cultures in the area. If you love art, be sure to check out the Rimoldi Modern Art Museum. This gallery contains over eight hundred works by influential Italian painters. 

There are also some beautiful churches, castles and forts in the area that you might want to visit on your trip to Cortina Italy. The Basilica Minore dei Santi Filippo e Giacomo has breathtaking frescoes and an intricate wooden altar and is finely decorated with paintings and statues. Cortina d'Ampezzo Map & Train Tips

If you want to take the train to Cortina Italy, the closest train station is in Calalzo di Cadore which is twenty-two miles from the town. From there, you can get a bus connection. There is also daily bus service in and out of the town. And for those with a bigger budget, Cortina is also accessible by helicopter.
