Taking the train to the ferry that services Elba Italy is an easy, stress-free and comfortable way to travel. There is a tiny railway station called Piombino Marittima that will put you very close to where the ferries come and go, so that is what you want to your destination to be on your train ticket. If your train company doesn’t go all the way to Piombino Marittima, you can make a stop in Campiglia and then it is a quick twenty-minute train or bus ride from here. Once you make it to the ferry terminal, four different companies operate so you will have your pick of them. Toremar, Moby Lines, Blunavy and Corsica Sardinia Ferries provide flexible routes between Piombino and Portoferraio which is the capital and located on the northern side of the island.
