All of these airports have public transportation routes to their nearest city centres and many are connected to the rail routes as well.
The busiest airport in the country, and one of the busiest in all of Europe, is located in Rome and is the Leonardo Da Vinci Fiumicino. Each year more than 40 million people pass through this airport arriving to tour Italy or just on a quick stop over while they travel to another destination.
Italy's has quite a few major airlines, whose flights arrive and depart out of most of the country's international airports and fly to destinations all across the globe. Some of its biggest airlines are Air Dolomiti, Air Italy and Alitalia.
